Understandings of value of life and its duration made me aware. As I spent my childhood days in the conflict hit areas, I was the witness of many cross firings between the security and armed rebel where the innocent people used to lose their life. I am inspired by the written word and by the actions of those determined to bring about change in this world. After reading the book, "The Irresistible Revolution" by Shane Claiborne, I discovered that world peace is possible but it requires us to change the way we live our lives, the way we take in our surroundings, and the way we experience the world around us. I went on the Rural Development Exchange that was put on by Augustana University College and Canada World Youth. On this exchange I was given the opportunity to live and work in Mexico. I lived with a family in a rural village called San Andres de la Cal. I love my Mexican friends and now many of my other friends that I know from around the world. They are what inspries me.
